When you enter a wrong tunnel, you'll appear on top of a cauldron and you'll have to start over (the starting skritt tunnel is one drop away from the cauldron). In Quarrel Gully, your task is to navigate a maze of skritt tunnels to get to the very top. Continue along the wall and through the falling sand to get to an unmarked skritt tunnel. Use the small rocks to get to the higher level, follow the wall around the falling sand to the next Elixir, walk across yet another narrow ledge, and finally drop down, hugging the wall, to a sand-covered ledge, making sure not to drop to the dunes next to you. Continue forwards and carefully walk up the sloped ledge, or use a leap skill to get across. Turn left, use swiftness or follow the wall and jump down to reach the Elixir. Jump on the rocks at the left side of the Elixir and continue to the right along the wall to get to the Splendid Chest. Walk around the two big rocks in the way, apply swiftness and jump across the gap to the Elixir. Drop down to the wooden platform and then to the Elixir, follow the ledge and other platforms to the left until you drop down to another Elixir. Turn around, walk under the rock, continue and then jump down to the Grand Chest. Follow the right wall.ĭrop down behind the flag and follow the wall to get to the Elixir. Run west around the Elixir and jump into the hole to the right.

Run across the cave and then follow the right wall to the surface. Drop down to the bottom and jump across the stone archways and the rock along the way towards the next Elixir ( swiftness helps here). Drop down to its base and open the Chest close by. Go to the left until you would have to hop across a spike to continue. Run and jump up the rocks, go left along the thin ledge and then around the wall until you get you to the surface, overlooking the path to Red Rock Bastion. Enter the large cavern, follow its left wall and turn right at the next Elixir. Run across the rock bridge and jump to the ledge by the left wall once again afterwards hop down to the Velocity Elixir. Run up along the wall and then jump to the rocks to the right. Walk across the wooden beam and then between the rocks through the tunnel until you get to the Velocity Elixir, run across the rocks to the left and jump to the ledge by the left wall. Starting from Drydock Grotto Waypoint, walk across the bridge and ramps to get on top of SS Topsy-Turvy, go left to the cliffside and to the right along it. if I turned my camera the other direction the game would grind to a halt while it thrashed the disk to load the more dense collection of models in that direction.Осторожно, спойлеры: Скрытый текст содержит спойлеры, связанные с the path through the Drydock Scratch jumping puzzle. A great example of this is I would stay in the royal terrace facing the asura gate.
GW2 RETROSPECTIVE RUNAROUND FULL
once all the models visible in the scene were loaded it would play at full FPS. Therefore the FPS would drop to wait for the disk IO.

GW2 RETROSPECTIVE RUNAROUND CODE
the disk IO issue would not only affect load times but it would also affect FPS, since when I would move the camera to load a different part of the scene it would start thrashing the disk to load models that were now in view and the game would freeze up while it did that, so it seems like the code that is loading the models is not running in a separate thread (or if it is, it is blocking for some reason). Also a side note from before I replaced the boot disk with a SSD.I can't imagine it would be that difficult to diagnose, since the game is basically unplayable from a traditional hard disk.
GW2 RETROSPECTIVE RUNAROUND MAC
from the SSD it loads about as fast as it did from boot camp in Windows, it is completely playable now.Īll Arenanet should need to do to replicate this problem is grab a mac with a traditional hard disk and run it in the debugger. like running out of memory.Īfter waiting for Arenanet to fix this issue for like a year, I bought a 480GB SSD (for $99 from Microcenter) and replaced my 500GB boot volume with it. The 32bit would be able to load about 10x faster and I had no issues with load times. Also the character models and parts of the scenery that apparently does not load with the map would slowly fill in over a few minutes after the map loaded. while it wasn't quite as bad as someone who previously posted, I could not join PvP style matches because it would take so long to load that by the time I loaded in the inactivity timer had expired and I got booted immediately out. Just to contribute to this discussion, I had the high disk IO issue with the 64bit client myself.
